My travel wall is my portal to the world.
When I created the first travel wall with postcards of places I visited over the past decade, I didn’t realize the power within. When I look at my travel wall everyday, it has always been part of my story. I love to travel: visit places, taste new cuisines, and learn new languages.
But there was a story beneath it all that I didn’t see.
Recently, I was talking to a mentee and I shared my love for travel and it dawned on me. My travel wall wasn’t so much about the places that I got to see, but it was my portal to the world, my way of connecting with people around the world, and that’s the true purpose of my travel wall.
These experiences over the past two years even though I did not get to travel much felt like I have traveled the world. I’ve met people in 10+ countries and some were not even in my bucket list. And now I feel like, I know someone in each of those countries and I’m looking forward to visiting them one day.
Now, that’s a life worth living for.
