Generalized anxiety disorder: How it changed my life for good.
What can you do about it? I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, GAD on Feb 25th 2020. I didn’t know what the word meant and I didn’t know how that would change my life.
But I knew one thing for sure. I was not going to let it take me down.
I remember what I told my manager: I promised myself that I will get myself out of it and help others.
Today, I have changed my lifestyle, found ways to keep my discipline from the constant busyness and work on meaningful things to feel content and fulfilled. I’ve learned to remove distractions and pay attention to the triggers, remove the stressors from my life where possible.
And I’m humbled by the journey: self discovery and reflection over the past one year. And learning to live life fully present, one day at a time.
I’m amazed by the stories that I’ve heard from folks sharing their journeys with me and trusting me with their experiences.
In each story that I heard, there is a common thread:
I am not good enough. I let someone down.
- We are not confident that we can do what is needed?
- We feel like we’re always catching up, always behind and never have enough…
